Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is allocated to the school to support those children who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), Service Children and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. This will also include pupils eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure).
It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, as they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils at their school.

COVID Catch up Premium
In summer 2020 the government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up lost time after school closure. This is especially important for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.
Schools receive a premium of £80 per pupil and this should be used to fund specific activities to support pupils to catch up for lost teaching over the previous months, in line with the curriculum expectations. Schools can use their funding in a way that suits their cohort and circumstances but they are expected to use this funding for specific activities which will help pupils catch up on missed education.
The document below details how our school will use the premium to support pupils in St Mary's.
